Best Roblox Animation Makers 2026: 10 Tools Compared

The best Roblox animation maker for you depends on how you want to work. For new moves from a text prompt, AI tools such as MocapGen, NoCapMocap and NPCMotion export R15 animations for Studio. For video, Roblox's Animation Capture, included in Roblox Studio, turns a short clip into keyframes. For full hand control, Roblox's Animation Editor and the Moon Animator 2 plugin are the standard choices.
We make MocapGen, so we list it first, with its limits stated plainly. Every other entry uses only what each tool's own site said when we checked on October 4, 2026.

"Paid from" is the lowest paid entry we found on each site. "For 25 credits" means a one-time credit pack, "a month" means a subscription, Moon Animator 2 is a one-time price, and Uthana charges per second. NPCMotion lists its $7 pack as a top-up, and we haven't verified whether you can buy it without a plan; its cheapest plan is $9 a month.
Credits mean different things on each site, so compare seconds of animation, not credit counts.
1. MocapGen: text to R15 with 4 takes per prompt
MocapGen turns a short English prompt into 4 R15 variations that you preview in 3D. Each take shows a Roblox check (length, root drift, joint speed, R15 parts) before you download .rbxmx, R15 FBX or Mixamo FBX.

- Price: 1 credit per second, rounded up, with a 4-credit minimum per run. Packs start at $7 for 25 credits and never expire; plans start at $9 a month for 50 credits. See pricing.
- Free: signed-in users get 1 free preview a day (2 variations, up to 4 seconds, online only), plus a free R15 animation library of 24 clips.
- Limits: R15 only, English prompts only, text input only, and we haven't published an end-to-end generation time yet. Clips run from 0.5 to 10 seconds.
2. NoCapMocap: text and video with its own plugin
NoCapMocap is a strong tool. It takes text or video, lets you pick HY-Motion or NVIDIA's Kimodo model, and has a free Studio plugin for one-click R15 import, plus an R15 FBX.
- Price: 1 credit per generated second. Starter is $9 a month for 50 credits; packs from $7 for 25 credits never expire. Short clips cost less there: 2 seconds cost 2 credits there and 4 here; from 4 seconds up the price is the same.
- Free: a free account includes no credits.
Both tools can run the HY-Motion model, and we chose it on NoCapMocap, so we ran our same-prompt test on 12 prompts. Feet sank into the floor by more than 5% of leg length in 8% of our takes and 52% of theirs, and 16 of their 24 loops had a visible seam against 0 of our 12. NoCapMocap's moves were about 8% bigger, and smoothness was even. We added a floor fix after the test, so those numbers are from before it.
3. NPCMotion: free credits to start
NPCMotion takes text in its web app or Studio plugin, plus video on paid plans. It inserts a KeyframeSequence onto the selected rig or downloads an .rbxm. It is R15 only.
- Price: Basic is $9 a month for 50 credits (1 credit is 1 second); packs from $7 for 25.
- Free: 10 credits, no card. Video, FBX export and Open Cloud upload aren't on the free plan.
4. Revix: animations inside an AI Studio plugin
Revix is an AI game-building plugin for Studio, and animation is one of its features. You describe the motion and it saves a KeyframeSequence onto your rig, for R6 or R15.
- Price: Developer is $9.99 a month.
- Free: 5 credits a day, and Revix says animations are free during its beta. There's a limit of 50 animations a day, up to 10 seconds each.
5. RigDirectors: R6, R15 and custom rigs
RigDirectors takes text plus references such as video, images and 3D models, and supports R6 and R15, with custom models and creatures from its Starter plan. Exports include its plugin, FBX, GLB and Luau.
- Price: Mini is $5 a month for 25 credits. Credit use depends on the AI model and tokens used, so there's no fixed price per second.
- Free: none listed.
6. Roblox Animation Editor: the built-in standard
The Animation Editor is built into Studio. You pose a rig on a 30 fps timeline, set easing and priority, and publish to get an animation ID. Most AI tools above hand you a KeyframeSequence or a file that you open here to check and publish. Our Animation Editor guide covers it step by step.
7. Roblox Animation Capture: video to R15 inside Studio
Animation Capture is a Studio beta that turns a video into R15 keyframes. Roblox asks for one well-lit person in a single, stable shot under 15 seconds. It's included in Roblox Studio, so it's the one to try when you can film the move yourself.
8. Moon Animator 2: hand animation with more tools
Moon Animator 2 by xsixx is a keyframe plugin with about 20,000 votes, 93% positive, on its Creator Store page. It was $19.99 on sale when we checked. Free "Moon Animator 2" listings by other accounts are unauthorised copies; don't install them.
9. Uthana: pay per second, export FBX
Uthana makes motion from text or video and exports FBX, GLB or BVH, with three R15 characters for Roblox. Its Roblox guide imports through Import → From FBX Animation in the Animation Editor.
- Price: pay as you go, from $0.02 per second for text-to-motion 1.0. New subscriptions stopped in August 2026.
- Free: none listed.
10. DeepMotion: video to animation
DeepMotion's Animate 3D turns video into FBX, BVH or GLB, and it offers a Roblox R15 Block character. Its text tool, SayMotion, is a separate product.
- Price: Starter is $9 a month billed yearly, or $15 monthly.
- Free: the pricing table shows 25 credits a month, while its FAQ says 60 seconds of animation a month (both checked October 4, 2026). Free use is non-commercial.
How should you choose a Roblox animation maker?
- Do you have footage? Use Animation Capture or a video tool. If not, use a text tool.
- How do you want to import? Pick a plugin if you like one-click import; pick a file (
.rbxmxor FBX) if you'd rather not install one. - R6 or R15? MocapGen and NPCMotion are R15 only. Revix and RigDirectors also list R6.
- How short are your clips? Compare cost per second, including minimums.
